Solving the Problem of the Mysterious Powder in the School Yard

• Students apply their knowledge of the properties of the powders and of their interactions with other substances to identify the components of the mysterious powder
• Students solve a problem in a systematic manner, by comparing the properties of an unknown substance with those of various known powders

protocol - an agreed-on series of steps that constitutes a method for doing something.  For example, a recipe contains a protocol for preparing food.
