Terry Johnson

Hi!  I am Terry Johnson.  I am very pleased to be a Learning Specialist here at Hardwick Elementary.  In the 35 years I have worked in
Education, I have been a Pre-school Program Coordinator, Assistant to School Psychologists as well as both a classroom and special education teacher.  Although I have completed many years in college (including my Master's Degree), my greatest learning has been from my son who was born with significant developmental disabilities.  Over the years I have sat at IEP meetings wearing both Special Educator and parent hats.  I have learned best practices from watching and helping my son.  I have experienced first hand the joys, worries, frustrations and trips to a wide variety of specialists that many of the parents I serve also experience.  Teaching  and working with Special Education students is my passion!
I live in Danville with my husband, son and little beagle.  I have another son who is currently living and working in New Hampshire.  My boys and my husband are my joy.  My family time is valuable and very important to me.
I am a native Vermonter, growing up in the Middlebury area.  Although I have always been proud of being a Vermonter, as I mature I am finding an increased respect and admiration of the beauty, the people and the life style Vermont offers.
