Lifeline Program Information

HES received this information and we would like to share it with all of our families!

Lifeline is a federal program that provides eligible households with a monthly discount on either phone or internet service. How you apply and who is eligible is changing soon!

The information below applies starting Nov 1st.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: 
To be eligible, you must live in Vermont, get your service through a participating provider, and qualify based on either income or benefits:

- Your household income must be at or below 135% of the federal poverty level OR 
- Someone in your household must be getting one of these benefits: 3SquaresVT, Federal Public Housing Assistance, Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Veterans Pension/Survivors Pension

TO APPLY: 
- If you already get Lifeline, your service provider will contact you when it’s time to reapply 
- If you don’t already get Lifeline, you need to apply directly to the Lifeline service provider of your choice

ONLY ONE LIFELINE DISCOUNT IS ALLOWED PER HOUSEHOLD.
