Dear Hardwick Elementary families and friends:
As we begin this new calendar year together, I wanted to share some bittersweet news with you. New beginnings are on the horizon!
I have had the privilege of serving this school and community for close to six years. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my years as a school principal. I am proud of what we have accomplished together. However, I will be leaving at the end of this school year to seek an opportunity to lead another school in the same direction.
Hardwick Elementary is in a great place! We are moving forward on the many initiatives we have planned over the years. Programming is in place to address the needs of students who have exceptional difficulties in finding success in the classroom. Teachers are working together in professional learning communities to learn more about planning instruction for proficiency based learning needed in the future. Our sustainability program is growing and thriving under the direction of staff and community partners. Our school volunteer program is in motion under the direction of a school volunteer coordinator and we hope to launch our student mentoring program before the end of this school year. Student led community gatherings are back and will remain a regular part of our work together. Oh, the places you’ll go!
I look forward to continuing our relationship with each other during our remaining time together. Feel free to call or meet with me to share your thoughts on where we are and hopes and dreams for the future of our school.
